Square Enix Announces Upcoming English NieR Book Translations; Hardcover & Digital, April 2023 Releases

Square Enix has announced the English releases of two upcoming NieR books, formerly Japan-exclusive, alongside available pre-orders. Both books are viewable via our gallery below, alongside descriptions of their premises and store page hyperlinks.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… Project Gestalt Recollections – File 01 (English Translated Edition)

Recount the story of critically acclaimed NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… in the first volume of a two-book set. The novel is written by Jun Eishima with support from NieR series director YOKO TARO, featuring illustrations by artist and character designer Toshiyuki Itahana, as well as story content from the Grimoire NieR world guide.

Hardcover ($27.99) and Digital Edition ($13.99) pre-orders are currently available via several storefronts ahead of the book’s April 11, 2023 release. Additionally, Project Gestalt Recollections – File 02 (English Translated Edition) is planned to release next year.

This ultimate guide to the critically acclaimed NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… comes packed with art, strategy guides, information and lore. It features hundreds of full-color pages offering illustrations and information about the game, as well as bonus short stories, extras specific to this volume and an interview with the game’s lead developers.

Hardcover ($44.99) and Digital Edition ($25.99) pre-orders are currently available via several storefronts ahead of the book’s April 25, 2023 release.

NieR:Automata released in 2017 on PlayStation 4 and PC, with an Xbox One release in 2018. The game follows the stories of androids 2B and 9S, who are part of an elite military force called YoRHa. In a fusion between action, exploration, and shmup elements, the game is very popular for its storytelling and characters. Additionally, the game is a sequel to NieR ReplicantNieR Gestalt.
