Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX Gets Release Date and Loads of Gameplay Details With New Trailer

During their panel at BitSummit Volume 7, developer and publisher Inti Creates announced that Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX will launch digitally for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam on September 26 for $14.99.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX takes place in the universe of the Azure Striker Gunvolt series. The series is known for its high-speed 2D action with a cast of characters that fans have come to love. This entry in the series will feature the series’ anti-hero, Copen, as he takes the lead and pushes the series to a new level of 2D action. However, the developer adds that they have made the steps to keep the game accessible to new fans with various gameplay options.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX features a handful of new and improved abilities such as “Prevasion” which can completely nullify damage and “Anthem” which returns players from death in a powered-up state. These are just a few of the abilities that have been created to help new players experience the game to its fullest.

During gameplay, players will be able to upgrade new hardware. While in a mission, Lola can transform to bring her powerful songs directly into the game.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX is set in the near future where humanity has entered an age where the majority are now known as Adepts, people who possess supernatural powers known as Septimus. Those who do not have a Septima are known as Minos and are being hunted and executed by the Institute for the Promotion of Human evolution Sumeragi.

During the game, Copen encounters a young girl name Kohaku who is a Minos and the leader of the Mino Children who live in the underground slums. Additional characters include Blade, an Adept with an electric Septima who is a ruthless warrior and wishes to exterminate the Minos without question.

The developer also released a new gameplay trailer showing all the returning and new features in the game as well as how players will be able to control Copen through this new adventure.
