Ghostwire: Tokyo Launching for Xbox Series X|S April 2023; Update Adding New Game Mode, Extended Story Scenes & More

Publisher Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks have announced their narrative-driven horror RPG, Ghostwire: Tokyo, will receive the Spider’s Thread update on April 12, 2023, with a new game mode, new areas to explore, quality-of-life improvements, and extended story scenes.

The new game mode comprises a 30-stage gauntlet from over 120 hand-crafted levels. Players will need to simply reach the end of these stages as they clear challenges, unlock more skills, and earn additional in-game currency used to obtain upgrades like the Charge Rush and the Counter Attack.

New locations include the local Middle School area, with more missions to complete and mysteries to solve. As for the extended story cutscenes, details are vague, but players will be provided more context of the game’s plot. Moreover, examples of new enemies are the invisible Silent Gaze and the Retribution.

Lastly, Ghostwire: Tokyo will also launch for Xbox Series X|S and PC Xbox Game Pass on April 12, 2023.

Ghostwire: Tokyo features a narrative revolving around strange disappearances in Tokyo. Players will need to find the source of the evil and purge the city using their own special abilities. The game features a story intertwined with occult leaders, conspiracy theories, and legends.
