Fate/Samurai Remnant Highlights Resonance Gauge & Meals

The official Twitter account for the upcoming Omega Force-developed action JRPG Fate/Samurai Remnant has been sharing tidbits of gameplay and character information over the past few weeks since the game’s latest trailer.

One such element is the Resonance Gauge, which may receive a different name in the localization. As players traverse Edo, view specific spots of interest that excite Saber, and eat meals from food stalls, the Resonance Gauge will increase.

Our team’s Ryuji translated the following notes:

[Exciting Spots]

Saber is interested in the unfamiliar streets of Edo and people’s lives. If you take Saber to places of interest, not only will your Resonance Gauge increase, but your relationship with them will also deepen.

[Meals]

Servants do not need to eat, but Saber enjoys it as a preference. They’re especially fond of rice. Eating at a food stall can restore your health and increase your Resonance Gauge. You can also buy food such as onigiri rice balls to take with you on the go.

It’s not yet clear what the Resonance Gauge will exactly do, but it will likely enhance combat prowess and other related fields for Saber and their master, Iori.

This game developed by Omega Force will depict a Grail War held in the Keian Era, Edo Period Japan, where participants comprising seven pairs of Masters and summoned Servants of figures from historical and mythological importance. A “Waxing Moon Ritual” is also being held in the city’s underbelly. Protagonist Miyamoto Iori, residing in Asaka, fights in this Grail War with his Servant Saber to achieve the “Waxing Moon Vessel.”

Miyamoto utilizes the Niten Ichiryu style of swordsmanship. In battle, players can direct Servants to perform certain maneuvers or take control of them directly. Further, players can explore Edo, made up of row houses, samurai residences, and brothels where NPC and animal interaction are possible. Moreover, there are unspecified challenges players can anticipate.

Fate /Samurai Remnant will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on September 29, 2023.
