Action Mech Shooter ‘Astebreed’ Coming to Switch Next Month

Playism announced that the Edelweiss developed 2.5D action mech shooter Astebreed will launch digitally on Nintendo Switch via the eShop on November 8.

Originally released on PlayStation 4 and PC, Astebreed is a shoot ’em up game where players will pilot mechs and face hordes of enemies while weaving through bullets. The game features a full cast of characters who have different shooting patterns and abilities that players will be able to utilize. Additionally, the game has a soundtrack that many fans of the series enjoy, myself included.

The story focuses on the last fight for human civilization. Players will assume the role of Roy Becket, a young pilot who wants to gain the same skills of his legendary adopted father. Set during a galactic war, humans pilot mechs and fight for their survival. Along the way, Roy will meet other characters who each have their own backstory, personality, and most importantly mechs.

Astebreed is available now for 10% off during pre-purchase at $19.99 and will unlock on November 8. The game has English and Japanese text options.
