Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World Gets a Confirmed May Release Date for PlayStation 4 and Switch

Publisher ININ Games and developer STUDIOARTDINK have announced that the upcoming Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will be releasing for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on May 28, 2021. This release date includes both the physical and digital editions in North America, Europe, and Australia. Meanwhile, the Steam version of the title will be releasing on June 29, 2021.

In Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, players will have to free four spirits who evil forces have confined. Despite this game’s narrative sticking true to the original Monster Hunter IV from 1994, this is a from-the-ground-up remake with cell-shaded 3D graphics and 2D gameplay. It stays close to the original game’s roots while providing an enhanced and refined experience fit for both old fans and newcomers.

The original Monster World IV will be included in all releases, regardless of the type of physical edition purchased. However, the original Monster World IV will not be included in any digital purchase, including Steam. The title will be included on the Nintendo Switch release cartridge and will be a download code for the PlayStation 4 disc version.

There are limited editions of the title that can be purchased from Strictly Limited Games. The contents of each of these editions is listed below:

  • The Limited Edition is available for €39.99 and includes an exclusive color manual & reversible box art.
  • The Collector’s Edition includes terrific items like the Monster World Map, 2x soundtrack (Original & Remix), Artbook, a Squishy Ball Pepelogoo, and more (€99.99).
  • The Mega Collector’s Edition celebrates the origins of the game and includes everything from the CE and even more fantastic items like the Asha and Pepelogoo Figurine (18cm / 7.1″), Asha Pixel Pin, a Vinyl Sticker for your console, and more (€179.99).
