Developer RGG Studio Working On Several Unannounced Games; Not Only Yakuza 8

In a recent interview with Japanese publication, Denfaminico Gamer, the head of developer RGG Studio, Masayoshi Yokoyama, provided the following statement regarding the team’s future output:

The only one I can talk about right now is Yakuza 8, but we have a lot of unannounced titles that are currently in development. At some point I’ll be able to discuss some things that I think will surprise you all, so look forward to that.”

Thanks to Yakuza fansite Tojo Dojo for translating that reply from the interview. This news is quite intriguing, as this brings the idea of other Yakuza spinoffs to mind other than Judgment. Or, perhaps, modernized ports of games like Ishin and Kenzan are also possible. Regardless, we’ll simply have to wait and see what future projects RGG Studio has up its collective sleeve.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the seventh entry in the Yakuza series and stars actors Shinichi Tsutsumi, Ken Yasuda, and Kiichi Nakai, who lend their appearances and voices to the game’s prominent cast members along with Kazuhiro Nakaya voicing the game’s main protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon stars a brand new protagonist for the first time since the series began, Ichiban Kasuga, a low-level yakuza member trying to make it in the world. His story will lead him to form a crew of unlikely allies as he attempts to follow his dreams from rags to riches.
