Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn Trademarked in Europe; Expansion, Sequel, Anime?

User yoonshik on Resetera recently discovered a trademark filed by Bandai Namco in Europe titled “Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn” with today’s date. No other info is discernible from the trademark page, but a few possibilities are worth keeping in mind.

Firstly, the name gives the impression of whatever this is taking place after the main story of Tales of Arise, such as either an expansion or a full-blown sequel. The latter has occurred with some entries in the Tales of franchise, so it wouldn’t be too farfetched to assume the same could happen here. An expansion would definitely be a new approach, though.

Alternatively, this could be an anime adaption, similar to how Tales of Zestiria the X was handled. Ufotable handled the animation work for that adaption and the openings for Arise, so I could see them potentially taking the reigns on a full-fledged anime for the title.

Another option, though unlikely, is a Game of the Year Edition. However, Arise received no substantial DLC, so I don’t see this being the case.

Regardless of whatever this trademark is about, keep in mind that nothing may come out of this in the long run, so keep your expectations in check. We’ll be sure to keep you all informed of any potential developments, too.

Tales of Arise is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
