The Final Story Update of Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] is Going Live in Japan on May 31

Square Enix has revealed that the final story update for the long-running mobile title, Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross], will be going live in Japan on Monday, May 31 at 15:00/ (JST) 11:00 PM PDT/ 2:00 AM EDT.

This update is the latter half of the two-part finale that has been delayed due to circumstances likely involving the pandemic and other internal factors.

For those not up to date with the title, Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] is a prequel to the series as a whole, and alongside it confirming suspicions and answering questions for the franchise, it has also provided new ones connecting to the next arc of Kingdom Hearts.

The North American PR account for the title has not tweeted any announcements regarding a worldwide, simultaneous update drop. However, given how the last few updates have followed this trend, it is rather likely this update will also occur for the rest of the world on the same day.

I solely wish that these teams were far more transparent about when their content will be released instead of leaving fans in continual suspense, but it is what it is.

As a fan who has followed the developments of the Chi games ever since 2013, seeing this long-awaited conclusion feels surreal and almost unreal. Still, this upcoming ending will truly kickstart us into the next phase of Kingdom Hearts.
