Fuga: Melodies of Steel Shares How Relationships and Moods Affect Battles in New Gameplay Videos

CyberConnect2 released new gameplay from Fuga: Melodies of Steel coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam on July 29, 2021.

The gameplay highlights how the mood of a character benefits them in battle. Players can complete tasks during intermissions, which affects the mood of the character. Then, in battle, characters can switch into Hero Mode, which lasts 5 turns and grants buffs to actions used by the character. Further, raising the affinity of the characters during intermissions also grants bonuses such as increased speed and link attacks.

The gameplay is Fuga has players follow an order of actions. In the game, the player’s arsenal is a tank with a Machine Gun that can delay an enemy’s turn, Cannon, which weakens enemy armor, and Heavy Cannon, which does heavy damage. Players will be able to position their characters within each turn and, depending on the character; there will be a special effect. Special effects include Heavy Shot, Armor Break, Multi-shot and more, and this differs from character to character. At the end of each battle, players will be ranked.

The way that the battle went will determine the direction of the characters and their relationship with each other. Stronger relationships will unlock events and buffs in battle. Outside of battle, players will explore the tank, do mini-games, and craft new items, but players will have action points that exhaust as they take action. After these points have been exhausted, players will return to the adventure mode.
