Sonic Origins Releasing June 2022, Trailer + Screenshots; Tails & Knuckles Playable For All 4 Games

Sega has announced that Sonic Origins, the collection containing Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD, is available to pre-order for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store for $39.99. Additionally, the release date has been confirmed as June 23, 2022, Sonic’s birthday.

This collection boasts the following features:

• Classic Mode – In this mode, the games are featured in their original 4:3 presentation alongside finite lives and Game Overs.
• Anniversary Mode – The games are full-screen in this mode, with infinite lives and no Game Overs.
• Missions, Medallions, and Museum – Medallions can be earned by completing specific tasks, leading to unlocking new content, Special Stage access, and more.

Further, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are all playable across all games sans CD, leading to increased replayability for veterans and newer fans alike. New animated content is also teased throughout the trailer, with each game having dedicated opening and ending sequences.
