The Outer Worlds: Peril of Gorgon Expansion Revealed in Trailer With Release Date

Private Division announced that The Outer Worlds will receive a new expansion titled The Outer Worlds: Peril of Gorgon, in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for a September 9 release.

This is the first expansion for the Obsidian-developed RPG. In The Outer Worlds: Peril of Gorgon, players will search an abandoned Spacer’s Choice facility and encounter a cast of new characters who fill you in on details of a canceled Gorgon Project. During the expansion, players will also explore a new location located on the Gorgon Asteroid, where new enemies exist who have been warped by science.

Additionally, players will find new science weapons and expanded character customization with an increased level cap. There are also new perks, armor sets, and different variants for gear.

The Outer Worlds: Peril of Gorgon is the first of two narrative expansions that can be purchased together or individually. There was no mention of a Nintendo Switch release.

The Outer Worlds: Peril of Gorgon is also in development for Xbox Series X.

In The Outer Worlds, the player will take on the role of a mysterious character who happens to be lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy. The character awakens decades later, and it’s from then on that the player will have to explore a space colony that isn’t all that safe to be in as multiple factions fight for control of it. The player can decide to choose the path they want to take if they wish to be a hero, rebel, or even an anti-hero.
