Ghostwire: Tokyo Achieves 5 Million Players Worldwide

Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have announced that their narrative-driven action adventure, Ghostwire: Tokyo, has achieved over five million players worldwide. Congratulations to the studios, and here’s to further successful projects in the future. This number doesn’t mean sales since the game was made available through Game Pass and PlayStation Plus’ Extra tier.

Ghostwire: Tokyo features a narrative revolving around strange disappearances in Tokyo. Players will need to find the source of the evil and purge the city using their own special abilities. The game features a story intertwined with occult leaders, conspiracy theories, and legends. The title also recently received the Spider’s Thread update adding a variety of new content.

The new game mode comprises a 30-stage gauntlet from over 120 hand-crafted levels. Players will need to simply reach the end of these stages as they clear challenges, unlock more skills, and earn additional in-game currency used to obtain upgrades like the Charge Rush and the Counter Attack.

New locations include the local Middle School area, with more missions to complete and mysteries to solve. As for the extended story cutscenes, details are vague, but players will be provided more context of the game’s plot. Moreover, examples of new enemies are the invisible Silent Gaze and the Retribution.
