Idea Factory International Teases Otome Announcement Tomorrow; Possible Hakuoki for Switch?

Publisher Idea Factory International announced that they’ll be holding a special livestream tomorrow at 6 AM PST on their Twitch and YouTube channels to announce brand-new otome games that will be coming soon. Not much else was stated on the matter, but if I had to throw in some guesses into the bingo card, I would have to guess titles such as Clock Zero, Sympathy Kiss, and even Charade Maniacs. But it could always be Hakuoki or Amnesia again.

It’s also unlikely, but hey, maybe they’ll also announce that they’re working on fandisk to Cupid Parasite. Honestly, when they say “otome,” that says…nothing. Because of the absolute iceberg of games that never came West. Still, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on what gets announced at this livestream.

The latest otome by the publisher is Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei.

This title takes place 15 years following the conclusion of the Heiji Rebellion, where the Heike clan has prevailed, and the Genji clan suffers from defeat. However, the heir to the Genji name, Shanao, is hiding within the mountains of Kurama, and she is disguising her gender to avoid inevitable conflict. Eventually, she decides to take down the Heike stronghold to bring peace to the country. Along the way, she makes new allies and discovers a secret between the two clans.

Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei will be released for Nintendo Switch on June 28, 2022, in North America and July 1, 2022, in Europe. Check out our review of the title.
