Samurai Shodown Rollback Netcode Update Delayed to Late Summer 2023; 2nd Community Beta Test Announced

SNK has announced that the rollback netcode update for their fighting title, Samurai Shodown, has been delayed to late Summer 2023 from its previously expected Spring 2023 launch. The reasons for this delay are “various setbacks and extenuating circumstances during development” following the first community beta test.

However, fans can anticipate a second community beta test on Steam in June 2023. Further details regarding this precise date will be revealed in the near future.

You can view the tweet announcing the rollback netcode delay for Samurai Shodown below:

Samurai Shodown is a reboot of the 2D fighting game series by presenting it with a new 3D graphical look. However, the developer has worked hard to retain the classic fantasy Samurai manga look of the series. Samurai Shodown is set in the late 18th century after the events of Samurai Showdown V and prior to the events of the original game. Each of the fighters has a personal mission which leads them to encounter many of their former foes.
