Grant Awarded to Stilton’s Playground Project

STILTON PLAYGROUND PROJECT

For nearly two years the Parish Council has worked towards building a playground for the under-12’s in Stilton, with much enthusiasm and support from children and residents.  Recently we were awarded a grant from Cambridgeshire’s Communities Capital Fund so we now have £60,000 for our playground equipment.

We are moving to the final stages of deciding where to site the playground and the Parish Council is welcoming views from the village on its proposals.

Three sites are under consideration:  Apreece Way, Gala Close and the Glebe (off Church Close.)  Click on the link to access the various reports that have been used to arrive at this shortlist together with the Parish Council’s Green Space Strategy which aims to make better use of our green spaces for the benefit of all villagers.

We look forward to hearing your views on our shortlist of sites.  You can email the Clerk () or drop a note into the mailbox at the Parish Room, Church Street, Stilton.  Please include you name and the road where you live and note, we need to hear from you by the end of July.

Community services commissioned by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

Where to find help …

Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council Adult Social Care have commissioned a wide range of community organisations specifically to support their residents.

Where you identify that an individual has longer-term care and support needs, beyond those you are immediately able to meet, you can make referrals to the appropriate organisations that can be found by clicking the link below.

This is a small sample of the community services available across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, you can search for others using the online directories detailed.  The directories are being updated daily with the latest information about what is currently available.

Important Information

In view of the current corona virus crisis, the Parish Council, at its meeting on the 17th of March, decided to activate its HIGH CONSEQUENCE INFECTIOUS DISEASE POLICY (please click to view the policy).

As a result, all public meetings of the Parish Council and its Committees are suspended. The Parish Clerk now has delegated powers to continue the work of the Council in consultation with Parish Council Members. Since activation, Parish Council premises (the Pavilion and the Parish Room) can no longer be used for meetings, classes or recreation.

Coronavirus Action

Over the coming days, weeks and months, some of Stilton’s community will need to self-isolate. Let’s help each other, as best we can, to get through this period of anxiety, uncertainty and potential loneliness.

Parish Council Members are working with Tianda Woolner (tel: 07758368255, ) who is coordinating the Stilton Covid-19 Support Group. Please see our leaflet that provides more information.
