About Me

I attended both Stilton Primary and Sawtry Community College. At the age of 16, joined HM Forces serving for 15 years throughout the world. After becoming seriously injured on operations I remained in the British Army and specialised in the non-clinical care of injured service people; often with life-changing injuries and their families for 4.5 years.

I was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2013 for services to wounded service people.

After discharge we moved back to Stilton permanently and I now lead and manage the strategic aspect of a range of diverse organisations.  I was a founding Patron of the charity ‘Help for Heroes’, and am now an Ambassador. Help for Heroes provided opportunities for assistance in adaptive sport, training and education and remains a service charity close to my heart. In addition, when time allows I deliver presentations on overcoming adversity to schools, employers, community support groups and sports teams.

I also undertake voluntary roles as a member of BLESMA and an avid disability campaigner with-in the veteran space focusing on mental & physical health.,

I’m married to Helen and have one daughter aged 4.
