Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story Opens Physical Pre-Orders for Vita This Week; To be the Worst Version Available

EastAsiaSoft announced that they will open pre-orders for Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story on PlayStation Vita on January 14 at 10 am ET offering fans the chance to pre-order one of 800 physical versions of the game. However, the game’s publisher, Top Hat Studios, released a statement about the quality of the build saying:

Admittedly, we are not as happy with the Vita port as we’d like to be. For clarity, the game does run without crashes, and of course has passed Sony’s TRC. We are aware though that the Vita version is not as definitive of an experience as we’d like it to be. In order to get the game to run on Vita, we had to do significant downscaling of textures, and the FPS and load times are not as stable as we’d like them to be. Unfortunately, given the prior looming deadline for physicals, we had to do our best to make cuts in order to make sure the game could adhere to deadlines.

The publisher confirms the game will receive post-launch patches, but the version available on the cartridge will not be the definitive Vita port on a cartridge. Thankfully, the publisher has also confirmed that 2000 limited edition physical copies of the Nintendo Switch version will also be available, which is in a much better state.

Those who backed the Vita version on Kickstarter will receive a message about receiving their physical rewards for the game depending on their platform preference.

Influenced by games like the Fatal Frame and Clock Tower series, Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story has plenty of gamers interested in its cyberpunk noir premise and world. Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story is set in 2083 Neo Hong Kong as a woman named Mei-Lin Mak is dragged into some unexpected supernatural horror.

Mei’s perception of reality is brought into question as she finds herself deeper down the rabbit hole of this mystery. Throughout the game, she’ll need to explore complex settings as she pieces together the stories of 14 lost souls and discovers the truth of her own family curse.
