Andro Dunos 2 to be the Last Physical 3DS Game Produced; Pre-Orders Are Open Now

Visco Studio and PixelHeart have pre-orders open for the Visco-developed arcade game Andro Dunos 2 on Nintendo 3DS.

This is said to be the last physical 3DS game approved by Nintendo before production of the cartridges stopped. Shipping for the game is expected for Q2 2022, and a pre-order costs $39.99. Those who want, can pre-order the game now.

Andro Dunos 2 initially launched in 1992 on the Neo-Geo MVS and Neo-Geo AES, and was distributed by SNK. The game has since been ported to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2021. Now, the classic side-scrolling arcade game is coming to 3DS.

Recently, Nintendo announced that it will shut down the eShop stores for Wii U and 3DS, which makes these physical cartridges more needed. Although digital purchases will still be accessible, there’s no telling what will happen to your digital library of games in the future. At least this way, players can own their games.

Andro Dunos 2 is a side-scrolling shmup with several stages and boss battles. The game is known for its unique ship designs, bullet patterns, and ship upgrades. Throughout levels, players will dodge enemy shots and pick up upgrades to make themselves stronger. Enemies are capable of coming from the right and left of the screen.
