Rodea the Sky Soldier to be Removed from Wii U and 3DS eShop by End of Month

NIS America announced they plan to delist the digital eShop listing for Rodea the Sky Soldier on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShops. This implies that the publishing license that was previously held by NISA has expired.

Rodea the Sky Soldier will be delisted on both the NA and EU eShops on September 30. So, if you’ve ever planned to get this game digitally, you can do so. However, there are physical versions of both products. If you already own the digital version of the game nothing changes for you.

Rodea the Sky Soldier launched in 2015 after a lengthy development cycle lead by Yuji Naka, former head of Sonic Team. The game was a mix of Sonic meets Nights into Dreams but encountered a few delays as well as a console change from Wii to Wii U.

Still, the Wii version was released bundled with the Wii U physical release. Strangely, the Wii version is said to be the better version of the game. The technical difficulties of the game that the team encountered appeared in the bad frame rates and unoptimized controls.

Regardless, it’s still a decent game to have in the library, but NISA has not discounted it for the month, which is kind of sad to see.

Goodnight, Rodea the Sky Soldier.
