Kingdom Hearts III Manga Chapter 31 Now Available in Japan; “Return from the Darkness”

Square Enix and Gangan Online have released chapter 31 of the Kingdom Hearts III manga in Japanese via the latter’s app service. The chapter will join the official Gangan Online website on August 10, 2023.

Titled “Return from the Darkness,” this chapter has some pretty wild implications since it appears like the manga will be skipping a bunch of worlds. The manga has adapted Olympus, Toy Box, the Kingdom of Corona, and Arendelle. But with this chapter depicting Sora’s confrontation with Dark Aqua, a meeting that only occurred in-game after clearing all of the Disney worlds, the ones that have not been seen in the manga may not arrive at all.

These skipped major Disney worlds include San Fransokyo, Monstropolis, and The Carribean. The lattermost makes sense since the Pirates of the Carribean world did not appear in the Kingdom Hearts II manga, but the other two worlds lacking inclusion is surprising.

Chapter 30 of the Kingdom Hearts III manga, which concludes Arendelle, is officially available in English via Yen Press. Chapter 32 of the manga will join Gangan Online Japan’s app service on August 31, 2023.

We’ll keep you updated on this manga’s progress.

Check out our review of Kingdom Hearts Dark Road.

In Kingdom Hearts IV, Sora is in Quadratum with Strelitzia, a prominent character from Kingdom Hearts Union χ. This setting is an afterworld for the two characters following their tragic fates.

Additionally, this new saga has been titled the Lost Master Arc. Further, some combat footage was showcased, with Sora performing Keyblade transformations against a giant entity that seems to be a Heartless? We don’t know for sure.

“The heart resides within the soul, which in turn is guided by fate to its rightful place” is a crucial phrase used at the start of this trailer for the upcoming mainline game.

Kingdom Hearts IV is in development with an unknown release date and unconfirmed platforms.

Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link will launch for mobile devices via iOS and Android at an unknown time.
