Final Fantasy XIV Coming to Xbox Spring 2024

During the latest Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival broadcast, Phil Spencer of Microsoft appeared, revealing that Final Fantasy XIV will be digitally making its way to Xbox Series X|S, with the Series X featuring 4K support, as well as faster loading.

Fans can look forward to the game in Spring 2024. There will also be an open beta for patch 6.5.

No other details were shared, but Spencer and Yoshida are very excited to see this unfold. Square Enix President Takashi Kiryu also came on stage, and he emphasized how he and Square want to see Final Fantasy XIV grow even further as it becomes better and better. Phil Spencer is also looking forward to continue working with Square Enix in the future.

We’ll keep you all updated on this incoming launch.

The Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Expansion was announced for Summer 2024.

Dawntrail is currently scheduled for release in Summer 2024. The delay was expected due to the previous announcement before Endwalker‘s release that the COVID-19 pandemic had permanently slowed down the game’s release cycle.

Not much was revealed immediately due to the length of time before the release, but we already know that it will be accompanied by a major graphical update to the entire game, which is sorely needed given that the game just celebrated its ten-year anniversary since being relaunched as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available via PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Patch 6.4, “The Dark Throne,” launched in May 2023.
