Ys Origin Announced for Switch in the West With Physical Release From Limited Run Games

Dotemu announced that the Falcom-developed action-RPG Ys Origin will launch on Nintendo Switch later in 2020.

The game will launch digitally, with a physical release provided by publisher Limited Run Games, who will offer a limited and standard edition of the game.

Ys Origin brings this hack-and-slash action title to Switch, where players will be able to explore dungeons, fight dozens of different enemies, participate in platforming sections, and complete puzzles. The publisher also released a new trailer to give players a preview of the classic title running on Switch hardware.

Ys Origin was released in Japan in 2006 and released on PC in 2012 in the west until it was ported to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2017, the game also released on Xbox One. The game follows a knight by the name of Yonica Tovah and mage named Hugo Fact. These two fighters are searching for the Goddesses that have abandoned them. Together, they will enter a tower full of beasts in hopes of fighting their way to the top.

The limited edition of the game will include a poster, a physical copy of the game’s retro soundtrack, an art book, and a unique collector’s box.
