Retro Fighter ‘Pocket Bravery’ Gets Evo Trailer Showing Off New Gameplay

PQube released a new trailer for the Statera Studio-developed retro fighter Pocket Bravery, releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Steam users will see the game on August 31, 2023, while console users will see it “soon.”

The trailer highlights each character on the roster in action. Further, you get the chance to preview the character’s voiceover, which stays consistent with the region they are from. The game will feature a training mode with hitbox options along with a Combo Factory and Trial Mode to perfect your skills during fights.

Pocket Bravery is inspired by classic fighters, including Street Fighter and Fatal Fury, but it channels the New Geo Pocket aesthetic. Players can fight as chibi-like characters through some brutal action, but this modern release isn’t hindered by the memory of the retro handheld. Speed and combos seem to be what appeals most about this fighter as players chain together the unique skills of the fighter.

Pocket Bravery will launch with 12 characters and fighting game fans will be happy to hear that online modes feature Rollback Netcode. The game also features local 2-player modes.

We’ll keep you updated on the development and release of Pocket Bravery.
