Card Battle RPG Meets Coffee Shop Sim ‘Affogato’ Gets August Release Date

Spiral Up Games announced that the Befun Studio-developed card battle RPG meets coffee shop adventure Affogato will launch on PC via Steam on August 17, 2023.

Affogato is a unique JRPG where players take on the role of Affogato, a sorceress who manages a cafe in Arorua. The game combines 3D environments with 2D character designs with illustrations depicting the cast as a pretty cool group.

However, the game isn’t all story, as players will need to jump into the minds of customers and defeat their inner demons. The only way to properly do this is to take part in a tower defense-esque gameplay system where players utilize cards to take down enemies. Players will need to choose the best cards for each stage, evaluate their cost, the route to take, and how to best use the skill and item cards in real time.

Still, there’s plenty of time to make coffee and enjoy the narrative. Players will need to balance their budget, too, since the only way to survive is to make money. Once the clock hits 12 PM, the next day will roll around, so you’ll need to plan each day with care.
