Divine Comedy Inspired JRPG ‘Nadir’ Revealed for PC and Switch

Developer Shockwork Games revealed their plans to release their dark JRPG Nadir on Nintendo Switch and PC-via Steam and GOG when ready.

Nadir has players create a party of three powerful but blemished characters. Each character represents one of the deadly sins, and they are tasked with escaping a seemingly endless city full of different themes, enemies, and challenges. Players will have to adapt to situations through character builds to survive.

The developer has plans to release the game on Kickstarter to assist with the development, which they feel has a solid foundation.

Nadir takes place in the city of Nadir, which stretches into a deep abyss. Damned souls spend an eternity fighting for power as they make their place in the lands. However, there is no peace in the city, only suffering, so players will control sins to escape. The game features bosses and a battle system that relies on a threat meter as players use skills. The goal of the game is to reach the bottom, but that’s not going to be easy.

The developer has also released a teaser trailer to show off some of the characters and illustrations.
