Fire Emblem Engage Introduces the Fateful Dragon Descendant, Corrin

The official Japanese Fire Emblem Twitter account has been introducing new characters for the recently announced Fire Emblem Engage, alongside sharing new gameplay clips. Today, the Emblem Ring character Corrin was introduced.

Corrin is the protagonist originating from the 3DS entry, Fire Emblem Fates, which comprised three story scenarios, with Birthright and Conquest being their own physical releases, and Revelation being significant DLC.

Regardless of the story, Corrin finds themself having to choose a side to support in a war, with both options pertaining to locales she has a close connection. Although the Revelation scenario had the Birthright and Conquest parties unite against the true threat.

Possessing the blood of the First Dragons and boasting an unbreakable, sturdy will, Corrin is a reliable support-type Emblem. She can alter the instilled effects of terrain and even enemy actions to create a far more promising combative context in the player’s favor. Of her skills, the arguably most interesting one has her reverse the affinities of the weapon triangle, quite literally turning the battle on its head.

Corrin has received one conversation clip and a tweet thread detailing her capabilities:

Fire Emblem Engage is releasing for Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.

This game follows the new protagonist Alear after their mother, Lumiere, seemingly perishes and imparts them with the mission of utilizing special rings to bring peace to the world.

These rings summon notable heroes from other Fire Emblem titles, including fan favorites such as Lyn, Corrin, Marth, and Byleth. And aside from granting evident gameplay benefits and alterations, they also converse with the new Engage characters, acting as vehicles for potential growth.
