Crimesight Service Ending May 2023; Delisting Next Month

Konami has just announced that their PVP crime investigation game Crimesight will be officially terminating its service on May 1, 2023, with the title being delisted from Steam entirely from February 27. Furthermore, following the termination of the service, the game will no longer be available to play. Bundles containing the title have also ceased and are no longer available to purchase.

In case you weren’t aware, CRIMESIGHT took place in London on the year 2075. As serious crimes can now be predicted by modern technology, they’ve been severely reduced. However, the system detects a crime that’ll be so catastrophic that the crime prevention system’s architects have to create AI that can investigate and prevent that specific crime.

Players took on roles of Sherlock, Moriarty, Irene and Watson, each with their own unique skills. The objective of Moriarty and Irene’s team is to kill their target which may be any of the other five pawns in the game, while Watson and Sherlock’s team has to try and prevent this murder from happening while trying to pinpoint who this would-be killer is.

We previously reviewed the game here on Noisy Pixel, and it’s quite humorous, because I vividly remember that because of the overly reliance on matchmaking just to even play this title, it would probably be forgotten in 6 months to a year, and I guess I was right, except the developer decided to pull the plug entirely. Which is a shame, but seeing as I don’t recall witnessing much marketing for this title, I suppose the writing was on the wall.
