Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince Reveals Character Renders & DLC Outfits

Square Enix has revealed new character renders for their upcoming turn-based RPG, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. The team previously announced that the title will receive three sets of DLC at launch: The Mole Hole, Coach Joe’s Dungeon Gym, and Treasure Trunks.

Protagonist Psaro will receive new outfits across these DLC sets, and renders of him sporting them have been shared, viewable via our gallery below. A render was also shared, perhaps mistakenly, for “Gothic Red,” an outfit which, after research, only appears to be available for those who purchase the game’s Japanese Masters or Super Masters editions.

Illustration renders for Psaro, Rose, Toilen, and Fizzy are viewable via our gallery below:

One of the new monsters, Goomulonimbus, received an official illustration, too:

Lastly, a clean version of the Dragon Quest Monsters 25th-anniversary key art was provided:

The demihuman protagonist Psaro was cursed by the ruler of the monster realm of Nadiria, also known as his father, making the youth incapable of harming any being with monster blood coursing through their veins.

To defy his fate, Psaro becomes a monster wrangler, amassing a sizeable monster following during his quest for vengeance. Additionally, he’ll make new allies, including the elf Rose and the enigmatic Toilen Trubble.

Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince will launch for Nintendo Switch on December 1, 2023. Physical pre-orders are available, with digital pre-orders set to be available at a later date.
