Mortal Kombat 1 Reveals New Base Game + DLC Characters Including Omni-Man, Peacemaker & Homelander; 2 New Trailers & Screenshots

During San Diego Comic-Con 2023, Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios revealed new Mortal Kombat 1 playable characters, Li Mei, Tanya, and Baraka, for the main roster. “Umgadi, a contingent of warrior priestesses pledged to protect the Outworld royal family,” was showcased with these new characters and DLC ones.

The main roster and Kameo fighters are listed and profiled below:

  • Li Mei – The former member of the Umgadi now serves as a constable in Outworld’s police force and has an array of magical abilities at her disposal
  • Tanya – Leader of the Umgadi, she is a skilled fighter and one of the order’s most trusted members
  • Baraka – An outcast due to the Tarkat plague that has turned him into a deadly monster, he now leads his fellow afflicted Outworlders in battle
  • Darrius – The klassic character returns as a Kameo Fighter, providing support during matches with a range of assisting moves

The Kombat Pack was also detailed, listed below:

  • Quan Chi
  • Ermac
  • Takeda Takahashi
  • Peacemaker (Based on DC’s The Suicide Squad film & Peacemaker series on Max)
  • Omni-Man (Based on the original comic book & animated television series Invincible)
  • Homelander* (Based on the hit series The Boys) – Releasing Spring 2024
  • Jean-Claude Van Damme (Johnny Cage character skin featuring voice & likeness of famed actor & martial artist)
  • Ferra, Johnny Cage, Khameleon, Mavado & Tremor included as Kameo Fighters
  • Kombat Pack is available now for pre-order as part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition Kollector’s Edition

The standard version is confirmed to cost $69.99, with a $109.99 Premium Edition, “including 1,250 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency), the Kombat Pack featuring  Johnny Cage character skin, early access to six new playable characters (available post-launch), and five new Kameo Fighters (available post-launch).”

Lastly, a PlayStation and Xbox-only Collector’s Edition for $249.99 was announced, “including Premium Edition content and early access, along with a 16.5-inch Liu Kang sculpture designed by COARSE, and an inspired Liu Kang in-game character skin, three exclusive art prints, a steel case, and 1,450 additional Dragon Krystals (2,700 total).”
